About us
WOOD architecture's work is influenced by the mid century modern movement (most off which is still relevant today) fused with current lifestyle and environmental issues.
Mid century design was all about expression, passion and action.

The clean lines and minimalism of the modernist style are able to stand alone, or be paired with aesthetic mixing, feature elements and art to serve as a canvas space for individual client expression.
Through this period, particularly the 60s, technology was exploding alongside design and culture. Technology not only inspired design aesthetics, but also enabled greater explorations of possibilities for design and the built environment.
These influences fused with addressing the environmental issues of today enable WOOD architecture to create fresh and positive environments to work, live, learn and play while celebrating our contemporary Australian lifestyle.

WOOD architecture strives to use modern technologies to create buildings and spaces where the occupant can live within the limits of what our environment can provide, or ideally consume less than the environmental limits, which allows the environment to recover adequately.
We are now at or near the point where we can use readily available and proven technologies to live a carbon neutral existence and to assist our environment to recover for future generations.

In Architecture there is a part that is the result of logical reasoning and a part that is created through the senses. There is always a point where they clash. I don't think Architecture can be created without that collision.
